Coinbase Announces Onchain Summer

Yesterday, the leading US-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase announced its so-called Onchain Summer. It will be a month-long festival by 50 creators and developers who will showcase novel things daily that can be done on-chain. The public launch date for Base was also revealed to be August 9th.

Shiba Inu Lead Developer Calls It Copycat

In response to this announcement, the lead developer of Shiba Inu (SHIB) – Kusama – called it a copycat. Less than a month ago, Shiba Inu had announced their own Summer of Shibarium which carries some similarities with that of Coinbase’s Onchain Summer name.

Shibarium Beta Bridge Goes Live

The team behind Shiba Inu has been busy at work too and recently launched the beta version of the Shibarium bridge for public testing as part of their layer-2 launch plans inching closer.
